GET TO KNOW ME

MEET ALICIA

THE SHORT VERSION:

I’m a CPA (inactive) and money mentor with over a decade of experience. Having left public accounting, I now dedicate myself to empowering individuals and small business owners by helping them gain clarity and confidence in their finances—whether that be personal or business.

Having personally paid off over $125k in debt, I deeply understand the daily challenges people face and I am on a mission to help people live a life free of financial stress, learn how to confidently manage their money, and build a future they love, all while enjoying the present.

The Longer Version:

(and the reason I’m here today helping people with their personal and business finances)

Well grab your favorite drink and let’s get into it! If you currently feel stuck in a job or situation that isn’t fulfilling you, you might resonate with this story.

Not too long ago, I was the girl living life on autopilot. I was doing everything you “should” do. I went to school, got a degree (actual dual degree!), got my CPA license, began climbing the corporate ladder, hung out with friends and family, and was just constantly on the go. I didn’t realize I was on autopilot because it was the same thing everyone around me was doing. It worked for me… until it didn’t.

I ended up extremely unhappy (miserable really), and it pushed me over the edge. Toxic work environments, or any toxic situation, will do that to you when you’re in it long enough.

As a result, every aspect of my life was affected.

> My relationships
> My physical health
> My emotional health
> And especially my mental health

Anxiety was at an all-time high and I had hit an all-time low.

That’s when I finally decided enough was enough and something needed to change. I needed to get out of this toxic work environment and change the way I was operating in my life. Luckily, I had been pretty responsible with my money up to this point, but I still had some debt (thanks student loans) and I was not in a place where I could just quit my job. I knew my money needed to be in order before I could make any drastic changes. So I gave myself a timeline that would allow me to be in a place where I could support myself regardless of whether or not I had another job.

Being in the financial world, I knew the steps I needed to take and I calculated how quickly I could reasonably and responsibly put in my resignation if I started managing my money and being more intentional with my spending. The date I planned to quit was March 21, 2020.

Based on that date, you’re probably not surprised that I didn’t submit my resignation that day…because, well, global pandemics can really throw a wrench in your plans. And who quits a job with so much uncertainty in the world?

But the good news? With a global pandemic, I could easily save money even faster to really set myself up for success and ultimately accept a job I was excited about even though it paid significantly less. I’m talking like 40% less. But I did it and this allowed me to have some sort of certainty during such uncertain times.

Isn’t it funny how God / the Universe / Source / Higher Power really shows up and gives you exactly what you need, even when it doesn’t always feel like it? That’s certainly something I’ve leaned into over the past few years. I’ve learned to be grateful, even when it doesn’t necessarily feel like things are going right because I know, everything is always working out for me.

I’d probably still be on autopilot and not managing my money appropriately if it weren’t for that toxic culture. It taught me how important it is to be in control of your finances and not just keep living day-by-day. Isn’t it ironic how we can become grateful for some our biggest struggles or painful times? (Once we are out of them of course)

It’s literally how and why I am here today helping people with their money, whether that be personal or business finances. Oh, and doing some major mindset work as well. If I can do it, I know you can too.

And the positive, unexpected side effect of being intentional with my time and money? Well, that is unparalleled happiness. A happiness I didn’t know existed, and it’s truly remarkable.

And I want that for you too!

I am here to help you take control of your life by taking control of your finances. Building an emergency fund, sinking funds and from my experience, even an F-YOU Fund. That way you can always escape a toxic work environment, toxic relationship or any other situation affecting your mental health without worrying about how you’ll make it work financially. And if you’re a solopreneur who is exhausted from doing alllllll the things, I love having the ability to relieve that stress from you by helping with your business bookkeeping.

Life is short and precious. Make sure you’re spending your time doing the things you love with the people you love.
